WATERCRAFT FOR REMOTE AREAS

by STEWART PROCTOR

The guest speaker for the evening, Stewart Proctor, is a local resident who was representing Paul Dixon’s boat building company in Bainbridge, Ga. and the Go-Devil motors used on his high tech boats to reach remote areas otherwise inaccessible to sportsmen. Mr. Dixon, who is highly adept and experienced in the building of shallow watercraft including airboats, designs and builds boats with his secret formula bottom coating material that is very slick, thus improving access to remote and treacherous areas. The bottom is made of thick seamless aluminum for strength and resistance to abrasion and puncture. The sides are made of thinner aluminum. The boat is stable without requiring internal structural support, thus allowing for maximum open space inside the boat. The Go-Devil has a 4-cycle air-cooled Briggs and Stratton engine. Honda and Kohler engines are also available.

Approximate prices of these rigs with an electric start 25 hp Go-Devil engine, which costs about $2,950, are:

18’-6" aluminum boat, motor, and trailer-------------$9,650

16’-6" aluminum boat, motor, and trailer-------------$8,850

16’-6" fiberglass boat, motor, and trailer--------------$7,950

Stewart offered to demonstrate the Go-Devil equipment if you contact him at home @ (850) 907-0201, by moblie phone @ (850) 933-5050, or via E-mail @ sproctor@nettally.com.
